How-to guide: Shortening a URL (simple method)

You can shorten a URL simply by copying and pasting the desired long URL into the dashboard's shortening box and pressing the Shorten button. Three clicks from a long URL to a tracked short link, a QR code, and a share dialog.

Simple shortening

You can shorten a URL simply by copying and pasting the desired long URL in this space and then pressing the Shorten button. The shortening box sits front-and-center on your dashboard's home screen.

No login? You can register first via either Google sign-in or the email + password flow.

The result panel

Once Shorten is pressed you will get a window with options to:

  • Copy the short link to your clipboard.
  • Share it directly to your favorite social networks.
  • Download a QR code that resolves to the same short URL — useful for print, packaging or signage.

The resulting short link can look like openmy.link/Az9qR (random slug) or, if you chose a vanity domain in your settings, brevii.in/Az9qR. Just click on the Copy button to copy the link to memory, and you can also download and share the generated QR code from the same screen.

Use it anywhere

You can then use the generated link anywhere you want — social media, ads, email signatures, SMS, print materials. Every click is logged in your Statistics page along with country, device, OS, browser and time, so you'll always know where the engagement is coming from.

Next: the advanced method

The simple method covers most needs. If you want to control the slug, attach a campaign, set a password, pick a redirection type, add meta tags or pixels — see Shortening a URL (advanced method).
